At Arkhi Care, we often work on homes where precision, speed, and long-term performance are essential. That’s why in several of our recent projects, we’ve used Structural Insulated Panels (SIPs) as our core construction method.

SIPs are prefabricated panels made from rigid insulation sandwiched between two structural boards. Each panel is engineered off-site to exact measurements, which means once the groundworks are complete, the structure can go up quickly and with minimal disruption.

In one of our projects, the SIPs system allowed the full structure to be erected in just 3–4 weeks, roof included. This gave us a weatherproof shell, ready for cladding, internal fit-out, and specialist equipment installation.

Here are some of the key benefits of SIPs for accessible architecture:

  • Speed: Faster on-site construction means fewer delays and a quicker path to occupation.

  • Consistency: Factory-made panels ensure uniformity and reduce human error.

  • Performance: SIPs offer high thermal efficiency and airtightness, reducing future energy bills.

  • Reduced disruption: Less noise, mess, and material waste compared to traditional builds.

For homes designed to support care and independence, these benefits are especially valuable. SIPs construction helps us create safe, warm, and efficient spaces — faster, and with fewer compromises.

Whether you’re working on a Court of Protection case or supporting a client with complex care needs, modern methods of construction like SIPs offer real, lasting advantages.
